Melissa Etheridge, born May 29, 1961, is an American singer and songwriter and Grammy-winning artist. Melissa rose to fame as a rock and roll singer and became popular with hits like ‘Bring Some Water,’ ‘Come to My Window,’ and ‘Ain’t It Heavy.’ In 1989, Melissa earned her first of 15 Grammy nominations. She’s won two Grammys over the course of her career; Best Rock Vocal Performance for ‘Ain’t It Heavy’ in 1992 and ‘Come To My Window’ in 1994 for the same category. In 2007, she also won an Oscar for Best Original song for ‘I Need To Wake Up’ from the movie ‘An Inconvenient Truth.’ 

Melissa was in a relationship with Julie Cypher from 1990-2000 and married to Tammy Lynn Michaels from 2003-2010 and married Linda Wallem in 2014.
