Patti LuPone, born April 21, 1949, is a Broadway actress and singer. Patti made her Off-Broadway debut in 1972 in the show ‘The School for Scandal.’ The show catapulted Patti to fame and respect among members of the Broadway community. Four years later, she starred in ‘The Robber Bridegroom’ and earned her first Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical.

Not long after her first Tony nomination, Patti won the Tony in 1980 for her leading role in the musical ‘Evita.’ She earned a number of nominations after her initial win, and won her second Tony in 2008 for her leading performance in ‘Gypsy.’ Patti has been the recipient of such awards as the Laurence Olivier Award, the Outer Critics Circle Award, the Drama Desk Award, and more.

Patti also dabbles in film and TV with appearances in ‘Glee,’ ‘Driving Miss Daisy,’ and ‘Hollywood,’ among others. Patti has been married to her husband, Matthew Johnston, since 1988. They have one child together.
